“TEXAS HOLD ‘EM” is a unique, extensively field tested, proven reliable, vehicle mounted, two-gun rack for safari style hunting in the roughest terrain.  Each rack secures shotguns or rifles, including those fitted with accessories such as night vision equipment, scopes, lights, bipods, and slings.

 

TEXAS HOLD ‘EM ROTARY CLAMPS are spring driven to provide continuous force, encircle the barrel with resilient pads, and  reliably secure and protect the guns.  The “standard” accepts barrels to 1.25 inches. An “optional”, 1.62 inch capacity barrel or suppressor clamp is available.  Either clamp will effectively grip the smallest known barrel diameter, as well as O/U shotguns to 12 gauge with vent rib. The padded barrel clamp rods should be located approximately ¼ inch above the weapon fore end clearing the stock when operated. 

 

INSTANTLY RELEASE a gun using the small lever.  Lean the weapon out of the clamp and lift to remove the butt stock from the receiver. TEXAS HOLD ‘EM racks are touted as “the best” for quick weapon access. Release the lever slowly to avoid noise.

 

“AA” (Butt Stock) RECEIVERS are individually field adjustable, for gun elevation within the vehicle, overall stock length and butt plate cant angle.  A close “kiss-fit” of the “AA” adjustable receiver, TOE TO HEEL LENGTH, minimizes gun movement within the rack, avoiding impact loads and potential scuffing. Careful, complete, field adjustment of the “AA” receiver is essential for reliable performance.

 

The MAST is a proprietary configuration, anodized aluminum extrusion.  Full length slots on all sides facilitate mounting and adjustment of each weapon retention component creating a non-marring, reliable “grasp” of the weapon. 

 

VEHICLE SPECIFIC, MOUNTING HARDWARE is integral to TEXAS HOLD ‘EM gun racks. Each vehicle is carefully observed and often operated to select the optimum rack location, rigid attachment points, while avoiding interference with the operator and vehicle controls.

HIGH STAKES OUTDOORS, LLC is intensely focused on providing hardware designs requiring NO or MINIMAL vehicle MODIFICAIONS. Many installations do not require modifications. Others require small-drilled holes, considered minor, with no known adverse vehicle effects.

 

The FLOOR PLATE supports and distributes total weight of rack and weapon(s), facilitates nominal fore/aft adjustment, and securely locates the lower end of the mast. It is necessary that a “moderate compression” load be imposed in the mast, creating a downward force on the floor plate.  Adjust the mast connection at the top bracket and/or floor plate to induce a moderate compression load.

 

TOP BRACKETS (or intermediate upper brackets) are MANDATORY to rigidly locate the top of the mast within the vehicle. TEXAS HOLD ‘EM mast, on which all gun retention components are attached, is mounted at the floor and upper level to “function” as part of the vehicle frame. Ultimately, the guns MUST “move as does the vehicle” TO SURVIVE THE RIDE!

 

BOLT KITS necessary to attach each rack sub-assembly and brackets to the mast are Stainless Steel.  Large bolts/nuts are plated steel.  We do not recommend sheet metal or self-tapping screws and avoid them if possible.

 

TEXAS HOLD ‘EM is ruggedly constructed of stainless steel, anodized aluminum, marine grade UV resistant HDPE, and powder coated steel for superior performance and attractive appearance. 

 

TEXAS HOLD ‘EM racks are well known and often recommended for superior weapon retention and protection, safety enhancements, excellent weather, pressure wash, and ultraviolet resistance. NO scheduled maintenance, and NO OIL (which collects unwanted dust) is recommended.
